How to Use Business Online Banking to Simplify Year-End Reporting
Simple steps to gather statements, export financial data and wrap up your fiscal year.
The year-end doesn’t have to feel like a mad dash. With the right digital tools, you can turn the sprint into a smooth finish. Our Business Online Banking tools put statements, exports, and secured sharing at your fingertips—so you can close out the year with greater ease.
Grab your eStatements and tax documents
Skip the paper shuffle. In eDocuments, you can view and download monthly eStatements and eNotices. Your yearly eTax Documents (like 1099-INT) for the current tax year become available for viewing or downloading in January of the following year. Save PDFs for your accountant and for your files. It’s quick, encrypted and available at any time.
Tip: Consider going paperless for faster access and less clutter; you’ll get an email when a new eDocument is posted.
Quickly export transactions to QuickBooks®
You can pull a full year of activity (Jan 1–Dec 31) as .QBO, .OFX, or .CSV and import to your accounting software—no hand-keying required. Prefer automation? Direct Connect for Business syncs your NBAZ deposit and loan accounts directly with QuickBooks so your ledger stays current.
For many teams, that means faster Profit and Loss, cash-flow and balance sheet reporting with cleaner data.
Reconcile with real-time visibility
After you export your transactions, you can reconcile your books to bank activity. In the account details, review Previous Day’s Ending, Current and Available Balances, filter transactions by date and drill into details (including check images) to clear lingering items.
Year-end gotcha: Items near 12/31 (like a check written Dec 30) may clear in January. Mark them as outstanding and move on.
Share with your accountant
Need your CPA’s help? Set up multi-user access with custom, read-only entitlements so they can pull statements and reports themselves. This means you can avoid emailing sensitive files while controlling who sees what.
Use built-in reports and treasury tools
Looking for more insight? Explore Treasury Management or Cash Management tools to help monitor incoming and outgoing cash, reduce fraud risk and streamline payments and deposits — handy for year-end cleanup and next-year planning.
If you manage more complex needs, Treasury Internet Banking offers a customizable dashboard for reporting and payment origination.
Don't forget mobile convenience
Traveling for the holidays? You can use our Mobile Banking app to approve payments, check balances and deposit checks before cut-off right from your phone.
Set yourself up for success
If last year’s fiscal close felt a little clunky, now is a great time to streamline your process. Consider enabling Direct Connect or adding Treasury Management services to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
Discrepancies can slow you down and create unnecessary stress. If you’ve noticed any, connect with your banker to review your processes and tighten entitlements—small adjustments can make a big difference.
Finally, don’t forget to back everything up. Store your downloaded statements and exports in a more secure, redundant location to help keep your data more protected and ensure easy access when you need it.
